Participants were introduced on climate change topics which included what climate change is, how climate change is caused its impact, climate change in Bhutan and its effect to people’s livelihood and climate sensitive sectors such as agriculture and hydropower. And importantly the role of forest in climate change mitigation and REDD+ readiness program in Bhutan were also presented during the meeting. The presentations were facilitated by RSPN and Dzongkhag Forest Divisional Office.
Ura Gewog is a gewog (village block) of Bumthang District , Bhutan .  Ura Gewog consists of ten major villages- Tangsibi, Shingnyeer, Shingkhar, Pangkhar, Somthrang, Beteng, Trabi, Tarshong, Toepa and Chari with total household of 301 and population of 2288, covering an area of around 265 sq. kilometer with some 82% of forest coverage. The Gewog is located in the southeastern part of Bumthang District, 48 km distance from Dzongkhag Offices. It is bordered by Chhokhor and Chhumig gewog to the west, Tang gewog to the north, Zhemgang and Mongar District to the south and Lhuentse Distict to the east. The altitude of the gewog is around 3100 meter above sea level  .
Gelephu Thromde has km 2 planning boundary area which can be increased further. It has 6 sub zones (Demkhong)listed as 1. Trashiling, 2. Namkhaling, 3. Jampeling, 4. Rabtengling, 5. Samdrupling, 6. Gelephu is located at about 30 km to the east of Sarpang, the Dzongkhag Headquarters. Though, Sarpang is the administrative centre for the Dzongkhag, Gelephu, due to various factors, has prospered and developed as a market town serving the hinterland.
It’s a small & charming capital city located in the heart of the Himalayas. On reaching Thimphu, we will do a short hike, from Kuensel Phodrang to Depsi (South of Thimphu). Before we start the hike, we will visit to Tallest Buddha Statue in the world. Then we will start the hike. The hiking is more or less very easy and plain walk through the forest of Pine, Rhododendron and Oak trees.
